One would assume that software preinstalled on a new PC is secure and has been properly vetted by the manufacturer. This is the case 99 percent of the time, but an exception has recently been discovered with the Superfish app, which came installed on new Lenovo computers sold between September and December of 2014. How can you protect your PC from this fishy security threat?
Before investing in a solution for your business, it’s important to understand what you’re getting into. Sometimes it can be difficult, especially with all of the jargon floating around. In fact, an excessive amount of this “geekspeak” can intimidate prospective clients, and maybe even frighten away a sale. While it’s avoided as much as possible, it sometimes can’t be helped, and some business owners are still lost on certain sayings or acronyms.
Last year, Microsoft pulled the plug on Windows XP’s support. Now, one year later, Windows Server 2003 is scheduled to meet its demise. Otherwise, you could be running a server operating system without necessary patches and security updates.
We all know Microsoft PowerPoint as a great presentation tool which can help you drive information home to the audience. Naturally, this makes it a great medium for use in more than one type of professional environment. Probably one of the more dangerous hacks so far in 2015, healthcare-provider Anthem has been breached by hackers and its data accessed. The breach may have provided the hackers with up to 80 million sensitive customer records, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, and much, much more.
Anexeon looks to “our” best interests rather than their own
We have been using Anexeon for computer, phone, and network management since 2004 and couldn’t be happier with their service. Rather than simply repairing corrupt and out of date terminals, they have taken a hands on approach to our entire system and provided us with up to date, worry free solutions that not only eliminate our down time, but save us considerable money each year! It’s nice having a company that looks to “our” best interests rather than their own.
They are a first rate partner and I would recommend them to any company regardless of size. Let them take care of your network systems so you can take care of your business.
Anexeon is proud to announce the purchase of our own building as of August, 2014! We have moved to our new location at 5439 S. Durango Drive, Suite 100. For more details, please click the CONTACT US menu choice above.
